Up for sale is a set of 4 Cromodora CD27 wheels.
Genuine Cromodora - likely the strangest wheel they ever produced !! Bertone loved to put them on their concept cars way back in the day. Here in Canada they came on some 850 Racer models.
!3" x 5.5" - 4 on 98mm Fiat bolt pattern. 25mm offset.
I believe they have a 58.1mm centre bore. So suitable for 850, 128, X1/9, etc. They likely would not fit on a 124 series which seems to require a centre bore of 58.5mm.
They are magnesium and very light - less than 9 lbs each.
Very rare. Kinda cool...they even have "Bertone" cast into the lip of the wheel
Sadly...they are pretty raunchy in condition...and would require a very ambitious restoration.
The good is that there is that they seem solid and straight. No corrosion to speak of in the usual places. Like in the inside bead areas, and in the mounting face and centre bore.
But yeah...the outer faces have corrosion and need a lot of work !!! Some idiot....ummm that would be me....rattle-canned the faces gold, and the centre caps black...way back in the 70's.....Most of which is flaking off...
Two only centre caps included. They are metal. I think some later Cromodora wheels used the same centre caps..so they are available if you look around.
One of the wheels has a chunk out of the very outer rear lip. Should not affect the tire sealing...and the missing chunk is included for repair somehow....
And be aware...like all wheels of this vintage...they were designed for tube type tires.....and do not have the safety beads. Yeah...you can put tubeless tires on them....but this has been the subject of much controversy over the years.....
Caveat emptor....
i'm hoping someone here has always wanted a set...for show purposes if nothing else...and has the ambition and skills to restore them.
I'd take $125 US for them all.
Pickup in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, preferred...but I could pack them and ship them. Likely $70 or $80 or so to most places in the USA...
