Electronic speedometer following

Yves

True Classic
Hello friends,

Today I managed to run my project, electronic speedometer.

The SpeedoHealer calibrator allows me to adjust between -99.9% to 9999.9% of correction by step of .1%.
The Volkswagen speed sensor need to be multiplied about x4, for the SpeedoHealer that 400%.

The next step, to do a little craft to integrate electronic speedometer and PCB in the cluster and install the new ribbon Led for the lightning.

Good stuff Yves

Keep this thread going.
I'd like to know more about the A to D /D to A you're using. Where did you buy it?
Is this a commercial device or something you (kit) built?

Electronic speedo and LED Cluster

I continued the work for the cluster conversion to electronic speedo and LED.

Here are some pictures of the progress.

You are an artist. Looks spectacular!!
The only thing you should do now is invert the warning lights for seatbelt/hazard/parking/bright.

Wow Yves!

Did you put enough LED's in there? Ha! Nice job!

You now have a better idea of what it takes to make a custom cluster. LOTS of hours... LOTS of effort.

Question on that electronic speedo... What did you end up using? (from what model car?)

[Edit: never mind! :mallet: I went back and found it in your photos!]

Did the reset knob line up with the hole in the clear plastic OK?

Again, nice work!

Reset knob

The reset knob fit correctly and positioned at the original X cluster.
But I need to modify the button to have the correct deep for put the pressure in the green area in the picture.

Now you all know that I am probably...

...the dimmest bulb in the dash here....but...this sure seems like a lot of work when something more accurate than any of these ideas could be put together using a simple digital GPS signal. I have a GPS app on my android phone that I use when checking the accuracy of the speed on my jetboat. I have used it while driving to work before, just checking to see how close my car speedometer is. The only thing you'd need a cable for is your odometer, I guess.

Thanks

The cluster is European version.
In the US version where my oil pressure gauge is the analog voltmeter is there.

No more speedo cable I replaced the speedometer with a electronic speedo from a Fiat Punto. Just need a speed sensor and electric wire to the speedometer.

Check the beginning of the thread for details.
