Late Bertone Wiring Diagram Addendum - Fuse R

I searched through the forums and couldn't find this mentioned anywhere.

While perusing the late model Bertone wiring diagram I found the following note(s) on page 19 (see attached)

**Note fuse R comes with 7.5 A fuse and should be replaced with 25 A

Fuse R is the Service, instr., charging circuit. I checked my car and indeed, it had a 7.5 amp fuse for fuse R . . . so I replaced it with a 25 amp fuse. Anyone have any insight into this?

That's interesting. Huge difference between 7.5 and 25 amps. I guess fuse "R" and "7" are the same on different year models? I'll have to look at the fuse box to even see where it is.

News to me.

Shows dealer prep then is no better than dealer prep today...

I wonder if this might be part of why some cars have better indicated charging than others given that it is for the instruments and charging. Hmmm

The owner's manual lists these items as being the circuits protected by fuse R (7.5a):

Turn signal and indicator
Clock
Windshield wiper and washer
30,000 mile pick-up and indicator [catalytic converter]
Low oil pressure warning lamp
Coolant temperature gauge
Voltmeter
Low brake fluid level/parking brake "ON" indicator lamp
Fuel gauge
Fuel reserve indicator lamp
Tachometer
Fasten belts reminder indicator lamp
Radio set (where fitted)

Seems like a lot for a 7.5a fuse to support given that you could easily have the turn signals, wipers, and radio going all at once in addition to the clock and gauge/cluster items that are in operation when the car is running.
